Chocolate Dipped Tea-Bag Shortbread
- is this not the most perfect recipe to share the week prior to
Mothers Day. What Mother, Grandmother or other special
person wouldn't love getting a bag of these
little delights this coming Sunday?
Created
with what can only be described as one of the easiest shortbread recipes
around they were then dipped in either white,
milk or dark chocolate and given that homelove touch
with some cute bag tags.
Beat
250grams of unsalted softened butter together with 1 cup
of icing sugar and 2 teaspoons of vanilla essence until light
and creamy. Add 2 and a 1/4 cups of plain flour and 1/2 cup of cornflour until
the mixture comes together, knead until smooth and then
wrap in baking paper and refrigerate for 25 minutes. Roll out between
two sheets of baking paper to around 5mm thick and then cut into teabag shapes -
the easiest way to make the hole at the top is with a straw. Place
onto trays lined with baking paper and bake for 15 minutes in an oven
pre-heated to 160˚C. Once cooled dip in melted chocolate and attach the tea
bag string.
